Singer-songwriter Brenda Russell has had quite a career thus far. She sang background for Elton John. She has collaborated with many acts, including: Earth, Wind, and Fire; Carole King; and Sheila E.
She has penned songs that have been recorded by a wide range of artists
from Sting to Luther Vandross to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Herb Alpert to Joe Cocker to Donna
Summer, just to name a few.
And, oh yeah, she co-wrote the music and lyrics for the Tony Award-winning
musical, "The Color Purple."
Now, Russell is gaining a new, younger fanbase, thanks to several of her songs being
sampled by popular rap artists over the past decade, notably the recent Flo Rida hit
"I Cry."
That song sampled Russell's 1988 Top-10 hit "Piano in the Dark." Russell recently took time out to conduct an exclusive one-on-one interview with Swerve Magazine.
Kevin Galbraith has had a recurring role on the most popular show on television, which returns for the second half of its third season this Sunday, Feb 10.
Only, it is not the same character.
Galbraith has played a walker in each of the first three seasons of "The Walking Dead," and not just one of the hundreds of walkers in a herd or a walker in the background. He has gotten plenty of face time. His most recognizable role is "The Swamp Walker," the one who killed Jeffrey Demunn's character Dale in Season Two.
Since that role, Galbraith has become a favorite on the convention circuit.
He will be in Western Pennsylvania this Saturday, February 9, at the North Huntingdon Cash-In Culture location for a meet and greet and signing.
Galbraith recently took a break to answer a few questions in advance of his appearance.
